Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria Learning is carried out mainly in clinical settings (hospital and health centers) with guidance from specialists (tutors) in the different areas taught and complemented with tutorial classes, in small groups. These activities are assessed by mini-clinical exams and clinical histories.
In the skills laboratory, in a simulation context, technical, communication and patient safety procedures are learned, using protocols based on the “state of the art” with individual assessment using “check-lists”.
The Integrated Clinical Assessment assesses clinical reasoning. It takes place at the end of the academic year and consists of clinical cases that integrate different subjects covered during all the 4th year.
The student prepares a portfolio where he reflects on the activities carried out throughout the year and which is evaluated according to defined criteria.
Assessment criteria are defined at the beginning of each academic year.
Language Portuguese. Tutorial support is available in English.
