Learning outcomes - Concepts and genesis of the foundations of justice and law. Promoting critical analysis and the problematization of the justice and law issues
A) Mastering the fundamentals of the science of law.
B) Mastering the current law regarding the Constitutional Law, the Civil Law ad others.
Syllabus 1. Law and Society: various normative orders;
2. Law:
a. Concept and values ??pursued by Law;
b. Characteristics of Law;
c. Branches of Law.
3. Legal System and Political System;
4. Legal Norm:
a. Concept, characteristics and classification of norms;
5. Sources of Law;
6. The Law:
a. Process of formation of the Law;
b. Unconstitutionality and illegality;
c. Application in time and space;
d. Interpretation and integration of gaps.
7. The Legal Relationship:
a. Concept, structure and elements (subjects, object, legal fact and guarantee);
b. Legal Transactions in particular.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria Classes are theoretical and practical, using methods of presenting content and solving practical cases, either together or individually.

Students are encouraged to participate, not only by completing classwork, but also by reporting on everyday situations, framed in the subject matter and which enhance debate in class.
Language Portuguese. Tutorial support is available in English.
