Learning outcomes |
This course aims to provide a solid foundation in regional and local governance in Portugal. Students should develop an understanding of the structure of regional and municipal government, identify the main mechanisms, norms, and relationships within the subnational political system, and critically assess reforms, public policies, and regional and local administration. Furthermore, the course seeks to equip students with the ability to analyse the challenges of decentralisation and regional and local development, fostering analytical skills and critical reflection on municipal public management.
