Learning outcomes	The general and main objective of this curricular unit is to present and discuss the theoretical paradigms and problematics of political thought, especially from the 20th century onwards. Specifics Objectives: 1. Acquiring knowledge of the conceptual matrices of contemporary political thought; 2. To apprehend the solutions presented by the different approaches of contemporary political thought to problems inherent in social and political reality (domestic and international); 3. To produce specialized and autonomous reflection around themes and problems of contemporary political thought; 4. To acquire high-level skills related to the knowledge of documentary sources and bibliographical research in contemporary political thought. At the end of the Course the student should be able to: 1) problematize questions; 2) know how to develop, in an original and grounded form, hypotheses of interpretation and theoretical criticism; 3) apply the contents acquired to the study of the contemporary
Syllabus	1. Introduction: Paradigms of Contemporary Political Thought; 2. Liberalism: egalitarian versus libertarian; 3. Communitarianism: moderate versus radical; 4. Democracy: deliberative versus radical; 5. Post-Marxism and post-modernism. 6. Marxism and anti-globalization.
