Learning outcomes |
To know and assimilate the fundamentals of applied thermodynamics with a view to solving concrete engineering problems in thermal applications. Know how to analyze simple thermodynamic systems. Know the basics of thermodynamics. Use steam tables and the equation of state for perfect gases. Know how to analyze simple processes by applying the 1st and 2nd laws of thermodynamics. Know how to perform exergetic analysis on simple processes.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
Teaching follows a combination of theoretical and theoretical-practical methods. There are 2 lessons per week, each lasting 2 hours. In the lectures, theoretical concepts are explained and practical illustrations of these concepts are given. In the theoretical-practical classes, numerical exercises are solved that have to do with the concrete application of theory to thermal engineering problems. In addition, there are two periods during the semester in which laboratory work is carried out. Assessment: Teaching/Learning: a written test (TE) and experimental laboratory work (TEL). The minimum mark for the written test is 8.5. The final grade is given by the formula NF=0.825NTE+0.175NTEL Exams: a written test (TE) and experimental teaching/learning laboratory work (TEL).
