Learning outcomes 1.Characterize and compare the different types of non-woven textiles: technologies, characteristics and material properties.
2. Non-conventional applications of textile fibers and main applications of non-woven textiles: hygienic absorption products, agrotextiles, automotive and transport textiles, textiles for clothing and footwear, civil construction, electronics and electrical components, filtration, food textiles and for beverages, geotextiles and construction, home textiles, medical textiles, packaging, protective clothing, wipes.
3.Case study: combination of diverse and advanced structures.
4.Discussion and analysis of the environmental impact of technical textiles.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria In theoretical classes, the teacher presents content and, starting from the analysis of application cases, teacher and students relate the properties of materials to their performance in various uses. In theoretical-practical classes, students carry out analysis and application exercises of theoretical concepts, identify and analyze materials. In practical classes, students develop statements about manufacturing and experimenting with non-woven materials. Students are encouraged to bring samples and various products to class, promoting discussion and understanding of the properties of non-woven materials. The assessment comprises a written test and the completion of individual practical work.
