Learning outcomes |
In this course unity it is expected that the students learn how to develop an experimental research project in the area of Industrial Chemistry and how to communicate the results obtained, both in report form and orally, in academic context. At the end of the course, the student should be able to: - Apply good laboratory practice previously acquired. - Search new techniques and laboratory implement them in a laboratory context. - Apply previously acquired knowledge in solving new and unfamiliar problems. - Have ability to integrate knowledge and handle complex issues. - Communicate the knowledge and reasoning behind them, at both experts as non-specialists. - Acquire self-learning capabilities in a self-directed or autonomous way.

Syllabus |
Development of a laboratory research project in the field of Industrial Chemistry, of either a fundamental or applied nature, carried out at the University and/or preferably in partnership with companies and chemical industries. Preparation of the dissertation and its oral presentation shall follow the regulations established for the Master’s Degree in Industrial Chemistry.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
The work carried out in this course unit is supervised by a PhD professor. Supervision may also take place under co-supervision, with one of the tutors affiliated with UBI. The final dissertation or project is evaluated in accordance with paragraphs 4, 5, 6, and 7 of Article 12 of the Regulations for the Master’s Degree at the University of Beira Interior, that is, before a public audience and by a jury composed of three to four members. The dissertation or project is assessed by the jury members in accordance with the rules established by the course committee for the current academic year.
