The curricular unit Instrumentation and Measurement aims to provide students with basic concepts related to metrology, promote the development of skills for planning and writing technical reports, oral presentations, development of skills related to experimental laboratory activities. At the end of this course, the student should be able to: - Describe methods and techniques for evaluating measurement quality; - Apply methods for measuring electrical quantities; - Understand the basic specifications of transducers to measure the most relevant non-electrical quantities; - Describe the most important elements of the measurement chain; - Design basic measurement systems for specific applications; - Have the ability to operate with laboratory instrumentation; - Assembly, in a laboratory environment, electrical circuits; - Perform analysis of electrical circuits.
