Learning outcomes |
Be able to generate surface design ideas driven by creativity and innovation, taking inspiration from the most diverse environments and socio-cultural contexts. Enlarge the cultural repertoire in the context of surface, textile, and fashion design. Develop capabilities to submerge in the creative process at the surface design level, creating new structures that exceed the limits of materials and technologies. Be able to create new sensory qualities and textile surfaces by exploring and experimenting with different techniques. Acquire knowledge in terms of craft methods and traditional techniques, enabling the development of contemporary textile patterns and structures. Learn about new technological processes and the creation of opportunities that they provide. Develop conceptual and commercial textile samples, exploring the combination of materials, colors, and structures to be used in fashion design projects.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
The teaching/learning activities fall in practical, theoretical-practical lectures and group assignments. The teaching/learning methodology comprises exposure lectures by the professor and discussion of ideas, is active and cooperative, encourages reflection, and focuses on students' acquisition of concepts, problem resolution, research, and practical work. The students develop three main works, framing the creative process, exploring techniques for the manufacture of textile materials, and the samples construction. This UC has a continuous evaluation, valued by class attendance, based on the projects' components: creative, sample production, and related reports. Assessment: 40% (TP individual assignments) + 15% (TP group assignments) + 40% (final collection) + 5% class attendance, participation, and evolution. The evaluation is only carried out upon delivery of all project elements. The access to exam criteria is 6 points.
