Learning outcomes 1.Discuss and analyze the importance/centrality that consumption acquires in contemporary societies;
2. Address the various manifestations of consumption and their social meanings;
3. To put into practice analysis and critical thinking in relation to the social phenomena associated with consumption and fashion. At the end of this course, students should be able to identify the main characteristics of the consumer society, to know and interpret the main contemporary sociological theories about mass consumption and the phenomenon of fashion and to discuss the social impacts of fashion and consumption.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria Teaching method: Theoretical-practical sessions, with tutorial guidance, for group and/or individual work, that is, monitoring and evaluation of the projects under development by the students. Whether they are practical cases or essays in development, they provide real experiences of research or sociological intervention and encourage participation and debate on cross-cutting themes and issues in the class. For evaluation purposes, the work proposed by the groups will be the subject of a final presentation.
