Learning outcomes To know how to assess and intervene in different community contexts according to Community Psychology principles is the main objective of the curricular unit. Learning outcomes: Competences in understanding the object of Community Psychology within an inter and multidisciplinary frame; Ability to distinguish and integrate processes of community assessment, prevention and intervention; Competences in community assessment issues; Ability to identify and characterize community prevention settings in a strengths-based approach; Theoretical competences in community intervention within different ecological levels of analysis; Competences in analysing and developing community intervention and assessing projects in complex and unfamiliar settings; Critical analysis skills as well as integration and application of scientific information; Ability to self-directed learning and time management; Ability to communicate orally and in writing; Reflective, self-critical and decision-making abilities.
Syllabus 1. Theoretical-conceptual clarification, definition and framing of the areas of activity: Principles of Community Psychology and SDO. 2. Community assessment process: From planning to defining community intervention priorities. 3. Prevention and community intervention: Approaches aimed at promoting health and well-being. 4. Participation and empowerment: Strategies at different ecological levels. 5. Psychological sense of community and social support networks: Procedures and contexts.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria Expository approach to theoretical content. Students are questioned regularly, and their participation and collaboration in the systematization and presentation of content is encouraged through the analysis of texts provided by the teacher. Carrying out various activities, namely research, review and analysis of scientific literature; individual and group analysis of materials of a theoretical and theoretical-practical nature and individual and group analysis of practical cases, using active methodologies (learning based on challenges or problems, cooperative learning, project-based). Individual theoretical knowledge assessment test; Theoretical-practical group work (with discussion in theoretical-practical contact sessions) of planning/structuring or critical analysis of a community intervention project.
