1. This subject focuses on the study of aesthetic experiences and covers the core historical concepts put forward with the purpose of reflecting on such experiences and in seeking to respond to questions about the essence of beauty, the fundamentals of art and artistic subjectivity.
2. To know and master the issues and aesthetic problems suggested by the course's programme.

At the end of this curricular unit, the student must have acquired:
- Knowledge, skills and competences in the field of themes and aesthetic problems proposed by the program.
Syllabus Introduction. Presentation: teacher, students, program, work materials, methodology and evaluation. Notion of Aesthetics. Aesthetic concepts. Aesthetic problems.
1. Around a theory of beauty.
2. Aesthetics: art of fiction.
3. Kant's (analytical) aesthetics
4. Hegelian interpretation of aesthetics
5. What is art? What is art criticism?
6. The work of art as intentionality and meaning
7. The aesthetic idea. Cinema and sensation
Conclusion. The Cinema Spectator. The current nature of beauty in the face of the crisis of representation.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria Assessment will take into account the theoretical-practical status, being continuous and phased. The evaluation elements:
2 Class questions – weighting of 10%+10%=20%;
Critical group work (4 elements) and original work (4-5 pages) – 70% weighting (50% written; 20% oral). It will be the subject of presentation and oral discussion. Two options for this work: 1. Express your own position on the aesthetics applied to a film/image. The work can be in the form of a film; 2. Analyze a thesis on aesthetics.
Factors such as active participation in the proposed activities will also be taken into account - 10% weighting
Any evidence of plagiarism will be punished with the attribution of zero to the evaluation element that improperly used third-party texts.
