Learning outcomes |
The curricular unit aims to provide students with fundamental skills in the methodological and epistemological background of geographic information systems sciences, consolidating the knowledge acquired in previous UCs and preparing them for the development of a dissertation, project or internship and future development of knowledge in this field. The skills acquired are also aligned with sustainable development objectives. It is also intended that students develop oral communication and public discussion skills.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
This curricular unit is taught during the 2nd academic semester, involving 30 hours of contact with the teacher, 128 hours of independent student work and 10 hours for assessment (total: 168 hours). Approval of this curricular unit grants the trainee 6 ECTS. Classes are organized in the form of seminars where different topics are covered either by the responsible teacher or by guest speakers. Assessment is carried out by defending and oral discussion of a topic covered and analysis of a written report with the approximate format of an article oriented to a peer-reviewed periodical publication.
