This Curricular Unit (CU) complements the basic training of this course (GIS), and its main objective is to: Train professionals capable of recognising and understanding the various types of geotechnical and risk maps, as well as mastering GIS preparation methodologies, which are highly useful and versatile in municipalities and all entities that deal with Strategic Plans. By the end of the course, students should have acquired the ability to coordinate teams to produce geotechnical and risk maps.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
The teaching/learning activities consist of theoretical lectures during normal class time. In extra time, students must do practical work with the help of computers and appropriate software in order to draw up a geotechnical or risk map project for a real working area, in groups of 2 students. The lecturer is available on a weekly face-to-face basis to support the development of the work, complemented by online support.
