Learning outcomes |
The course on systematic reviews and introduction to meta-analysis aims to provide students with the tools to conduct systematic reviews. By the end of the course, students should be able to: • Formulate a research question structured according to the PICO criteria. • Develop a systematic review protocol in accordance with the PRISMA Guidelines and the methodological principles of the Cochrane Collaboration. • Conduct advanced searches in biomedical databases. • Apply eligibility criteria for the selection of primary studies. • Critically appraise the methodological quality of studies and assess the risk of bias. • Extract data systematically and in a structured manner. • Understand the fundamentals of meta-analysis and interpret its results. • Write a scientific systematic review article. • Work collaboratively within a research team, respecting the different roles in the process.
