Learning outcomes The general goal of this curricular unit is to reach the CEFR level B1.1/B1.2, taking into account two aspects: the specificity of SFL teaching-learning for/by
Lusophones (close languages); the training not only of competent SFL users, but also of future SFL teachers in Portugal, translators, etc. See the Portuguese
version for further details (specific goals and intended learning outcomes).
Syllabus 1. Functional: describing and narrating in the present/past/future, formulating dreams/hopes/ambitions, interacting in frequent situations at work/school or
during leisure time.
2. Pragmatic-discursive: textual connectors, discursive markers, pragmatic relations.
3. Sociocultural: aspects of sp. society; current culture(s) and society in Spanish-speaking spaces.
4. Grammatical: revision and expansion of graphic accentuation, accentuation of compound words, heterotonics (“policía-policia”), direct and indirect object
pronouns (duplication of IO), placement of pronouns, revision and expansion of tenses verbs, the passive voice, periphrases (“volver a/empezar a/acabar
de/tener que”+inf.)
5. Lexicals: lexicon suited to the specific needs/communicative abilities of the level and the proposed notio-functional contents, divergent/problematic units for
Portuguese speakers (false friends, bilingual doublets, etc.).

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria Teaching methodologies --> In the theoretical-practical classes, varied activities appropriate to the level will be proposed, covering all basic linguistic skills
(understanding, production, interaction, mediation).
Student’ assessment --> continuous evaluation: 15%; 2 midterm tests: 55%; 1 final oral exam: 30%.
