Learning outcomes |
Following the conclusion of this course unit, the student should:
1) systematically learn the foreign language in the areas of written and oral comprehension and expression, in order to develop the different communicative skills contemplated in the “Common European Framework of Reference for Languages” (Council of Europe, 2001) – CEFR –, as well as in the CEFR supplementary volume (North, Piccardo, & Goodier, 2018);
2) be able to communicate in different situational contexts;
3) master and adapt vocabulary and structures to various communicative contexts.

Syllabus |
Students may select one of the non-degree language courses offered by the Department of Letters, namely German, Spanish, French, English, and Portuguese as a Foreign Language. The course content is tailored to the student's language level, structured according to the "Common European Framework of Reference for Languages" (Council of Europe, 2001):
Thematic Areas 1 - Personal preferences and tastes 2 - Frequent actions and habits 4 - Description of people, places and situations 5 - Professions and professional opportunities 6 - Health and well-being
Language Functioning 1 - Correspondence between sounds and spellings 2 - Morphology 3 - Syntactic structure 4 - Verb conjugation in different tenses
