Learning outcomes -Acquire sociocultural competence of Spanish culture to be able to use and interact with other actors in the world of cultural creative industries. -Know and critically discuss each of the historical periods analyzed.
-Summarize the main points of each historical period analyzed.
-Argument coherently, one or more aspects of History and Art of Spain analyzed.
-Relate and compare sociocultural elements.
-Make a comparative study of sociocultural themes. -Contrasting two cultures, discerning cultural elements. -Activate intercultural consciousness.
Syllabus 1) Brief history of Spain from pre-Roman peoples to the 21st century (main artistic manifestations: architecture, painting, sculpture, etc.)
a. Iberian Peninsula - a crossing of peoples
b. Al-Andaluz and Muslim art; the legacy of the three cultures;
c. Spanish unity with the Catholic Kings and the modern age
d. Spain final century. XIX to Spain today (territorial and political organization of Spain)
2) History of everyday life.
a. Personal and social relations.
- an identity: names and surnames, hypocoristic; b. Body and sign language.
- non-verbal communication;
c. Social conventions.
- standards of behaviour;
d. Values, beliefs and attitudes.
- the role of religion;
e. Mirrors of Spanish reality.
- Spanish gastronomy;
- the most important museums;
- Spanish cinema;
- music, dance and sport;
- Literature;
- etc.
f. Ritual behavior
-Festivals and traditions, folklore
Main Bibliography The teacher will provide the audiovisual resources and all the materials necessary to accompany the UC, selected from the complementary bibliography, online documentaries, etc.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria Theoretical-practical classes. Examples of activities:
-Projection of multimedia material related to the History and Art of Spain.
-Summary and critical commentary of the designed materials.
-Guidance and guide for the elaboration of a comparative work on Spanish and Portuguese cultures.
-Elaboration of critical summaries about the different historical periods analyzed and/or documents distributed in class. -Debates on the learned sociocultural content and on the intercultural relationship.
Assessment is ongoing
The final grade for the Teaching-Learning season will be calculated according to the following parameters:
- Weighted average of the various activities proposed: investigation, critical comment, etc. carried out during the semester (50%); - Final project work grade (50%)
Language Portuguese. Tutorial support is available in English.
