Learning outcomes |
This course unit aims to study literary criticism, based on concepts of literary theory, and also the creation of artistic texts, through practical exercises. 1. Show knowledge of the main trends of literary critical studies; 2. Apply analysis techniques to lyric, dramatic and narrative texts; 3. Reveal ability to produce texts that respect some basic principles of the exercise of literary creation.

1. History of the word “literature” and issues of literary periodization; 2. The idealistic stylistic; 3. The Russian formalists; 4. Roman Jakobson: Literary Studies and Linguistic Studies; the theory of the poetic function; 5. Structuralism; 6. The pragmatic study of literature; 7. The aesthetics of reception: R. Ingarden, Iser, U. Eco and others; 8. The textual analysis (narrative, poetic and dramatic text). 9. Practical exercises to create different kinds of texts.
