This BIP explores the tension and potential synergy between making a place visually appealing for social media (i.e., "Instagrammable") and preserving its architectural heritage and local identity. The aim is to encourage students to reflect on how contemporary representation and communication can contribute to the protection and promotion of a place’s memory, identity, and built heritage—in this case, industrial heritage.
Through hand-drawn proposals, students will be challenged to:
Promote a specific place by proposing a small intervention or conceptual idea.
Express this proposal using only drawing techniques (pencil or pen), as if presenting the idea directly to a client.
Develop a narrative that values the heritage, memory, and character of the place, making it both visually engaging and communicable in today’s social media-driven world.

Syllabus |
The work to be carried out during the in-person module is directly related to the goal of promoting the street where the Wool Museum is located, while also raising awareness of the museum itself, as it is situated on a street with very little foot traffic. To achieve this, students, accompanied by their professors, are expected to develop a project that proposes the revitalisation and activation of both the museum and the street that leads to it.
