Learning outcomes |
The course aims to provide students with skills for the use of Geographic Information Systems in the spatial analysis of
network vector systems.
The following competencies are transmitted to students:
(a) Understanding the concepts of network, network model and network analysis operations.
(b) Ability to execute the main types of network analysis (shortest path, closest facility, origin-destination cost matrix, service area, vehicle routing and location-allocation).

Syllabus |
1. Network concept and introduction to network analysis.
2. GIS vector model for network analysis: graph, node, link, topological properties, attributes (impedance, turns,
elevation and direction).
3. Network analysis operations: shortest path, closest facility, origin-destination cost matrix, service area, vehicle
routing and location-allocation.
4. Applications of network analysis using GIS.
