Entry requirements To be duly enrolled and registered in the first year of the Communication Sciences program.
Learning outcomes To provide knowledge of the stages of communication media throughout human history, from Antiquity to the 21st century. To identify and understand the causes and contexts of the evolution of the media. To highlight continuities and changes across the successive generations of communication technologies and their uses, adopting both descriptive and analytical perspectives.

3. The press between censorship and public opinion
4. New techniques of long-distance transmission
5. News journalism as an industry and a profession
6. Radio: an everyday and borderless technology
7. Television: nation, cultural industries, and media events
8. The Internet: from military origins to interactive communication
