Learning outcomes |
The Philosophy Seminar II aims to deepen a more specific understanding of the teaching of philosophy and to promote recognition of philosophy in its applied dimension, which translates into the following specific objectives:
1. To familiarize students with a thematic approach to specific content within the essential learning outcomes of philosophy; 2. Seek to achieve high performance in the specific skills, knowledge, and attitudes of philosophy; 3. Gain in-depth understanding of the themes and integrate them within the broader philosophical context; 4. Enhance critical thinking regarding the themes, consistent with didactic application in a secondary education context; 5. To practice philosophical skills and associate them with methodological skills specific to this discipline; 6. To prepare students for differentiated teaching.

Syllabus |
As part of the Program to Support Innovation and Pedagogical Transformation – EPIC Advanced-Level Courses (Pedagogical Excellence and Innovation in Co-creation), the course content will be co-created with the students, with the aim of rethinking the place and role of philosophy in today’s society, finding ways to address timeless existential issues as well as current and concrete social, political, and environmental problems, based on philosophical reasoning and critical thinking. The starting point and unifying question for the course content is “How can we live together?”
