Learning outcomes In this Curricular Unit (CU) it is expected that students acquire a general and comprehensive view of the contribution of educational anddevelopmental psychology to teaching and learning processes and practices. At the end, students should be able to:1. Understand thecontribution of educational psychology to teacher training;2. Present and critically analyse the contributions of different development andlearning theories to teaching practice;3. Know the main personal and contextual factors that influence learning processes;4. Ground theuse of classroom management strategies to prevent disruptive behaviour;5. Express ideas in a well-founded and rigorous way, using oraland written communication;6. Collaborate constructively and responsibly in teamwork.
Syllabus 1. INTRODUCTION TO EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY.
2. PSYCHOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATION: 2.1. Human development: introductory concepts; 2.2. Cognitive development in childhood and adolescence; 2.3. Psychosocial development in childhoodand adolescence; 2.4. Educational implications of developmental theories.
3. LEARNING THEORIES AND PROCESSES: 3.1. Behaviouraltheories of learning; 3.2. Cognitive and constructivist theories of learning; 3.3. Contextual factors with implications for learning.
4.DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIOUR AND CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT.
