Scientific area MECÂNICA COMPUTACIONAL
Entry requirements N.A.
Learning outcomes The goal of the master's degree dissertation is for the student to demonstrate that they have the ability to apply the knowledge acquired during the degree, critically and independently analyzing a specific topic in the area. - The master dissertation presupposes a work of a scientific nature on a topic within the scientific area of the master's course. It must have a state of the art literature review and a theoretical, or simulation with or without experimental validation exercise component that promotes an innovative approach to the chosen topic. It must also present a conclusive synthesis and suggestions for future work. The research work to be developed must, typically, be the result of an in-depth analysis of the literature and fundamentally aims to propose a solution that is relevant from a theoretical point of view and, as far as possible, generalized to Computational Mechanical Engineering
Syllabus The programmatic content and planning of each Dissertation work is defined by the supervising professor(s) and approved by the Course Committee. The work to be developed was planned and defined in the Curricular Unit of "Seminar in Mechanical Computational Engineering"
Main Bibliography Set by the supervisor(s) in each work.
Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria The dissertation will be evaluated in public examinations by a panel consisting of at least three professors, including the supervisor and the course instructor. 1- Once the examinations are completed, the panel meets immediately for evaluation and deliberation (classification expressed on a scale of 0 to 20), through a reasoned nominal vote, with abstentions not permitted. 2- In case of a tie, the president of the panel has a casting vote, and may also participate in the decision if they have been designated as a member or belong to the same scientific area. 3- Any corrections to the dissertation requested by the panel will be recorded in the minutes of the examinations or in a document attached to them, as well as the date of publication, if there is a prior confidentiality agreement. The dissertation will assume a definitive character after the examinations are held and, where applicable, after verification and validation of the introduction of the requested corrections, attested
