Learning outcomes |
The curricular unit (CU) aims to: - Provide concepts, theories, empirical methods and models necessary for the study of Entrepreneurship Theories; and - Provide in-depth and up-to-date training in the field.
At the end of the course, the student should be able to: - Situate and apply the main Theories of Entrepreneurship in microeconomic and macroeconomic approaches; - Discuss and critically evaluate the main public policy options for entrepreneurship in the contexts of developed economies (e.g. OECD and EU), and developing economies; and - Develop autonomous research on the field.
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): This CU also aims to contribute to the training of students capable of meeting the targets of SDG 8 - Promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all; and SDG 9 - Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
Bearing in mind the objectives focused on the development and acquisition of the competences proposed for this curricular unit, the following methodologies are used: (1) Expository: presentation of concepts, theories, models and empirical approaches to Entrepreneurship Theories; (2) Participatory: analysis and discussion of studies, policy reports, scientific articles and practical cases on entrepreneurship topics, which prepare the student for the autonomous preparation of research work; (3) Active learning and self-study: related to the student's autonomous work in preparing a working document and an empirical study on entrepreneurship topics: determinants of entrepreneurship; microeconomic and macroeconomic models of entrepreneurship; financing decisions; regulation of entrepreneurial activity and the labor market; and public policies on entrepreneurship; and (4) Active: with an individual test
