Mode of delivery Face-to-face with recourse to e-learning.
Work placements This year, students undertake the research project in the research laboratories of the Chemistry Department, under the guidance of professors of this department, however, this can be done in companies, with co-supervision of a professor of the department.
Learning outcomes It is intended that students develop a research project in the area of Industrial Chemistry, supervised and integrated into the research groups of the department.
At the end of this course unit the student should be able to:
Perform literature review and collect information on topics in chemistry, by consulting in bibliographic and non-bibliographic databases
Organize, plan and make decisions
Perform, independently, experimental work,interpreting the obtained results
Improve and/or implement new techniques
Apply concepts, principles and theories previously acquired in the development of the project.
Collect and properly treat the experimental results, using appropriate tools.
Prepare a final written report and defend it orally.
Work in teams
Know a second language
Syllabus Development of an experimental research project, in the area of Industrial Chemistry, with fundamental or applied nature,at the University and/or preferably in partnership with companies and chemical industries.
Elaboration and oral presentation of a graduation thesis of the experimental work.
Main Bibliography Scientific articles and other literature in accordance with the work to be developed.
Language Portuguese. Tutorial support is available in English.
