Learning outcomes |
The objective of this curricular unit is that students acquire theoretical and practical knowledge of physical concepts useful in Bioengineering notably concerning optics and modern physics.
A student completing this course should be able to identify, interpret and analyze elementary physical situations involving optics and modern physics.

1. Optics • Optical phenomena and the nature of light • wave equation • Huygens principle • reflection and refraction • interference and diffraction 2. Modern physics: • thermal radiation and Planck's law for the blackbody radiation • energy quantisation and photoelectric effect • Compton effect • atomic spectra • the atomic nucleus and the radioative decay
