The University of Beira Interior is structured into Faculties, comprising the areas of knowledge which, by nature, are related. UBI comprises five faculties: Faculty of Sciences, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Social Science and Humanities, Faculty of Arts and Letters and Faculty of Health Sciences. The structure of the University of Beira Interior’s Cycle of Studies follows a three schema for the 1st cycle degrees, two years for the 2nd cycle degrees or “masters” and three for the 3rd cycle studies in the several PhD programmes, following the Bolonha process. There are some cases of five and six years of basic training, designated “Integrated Masters”. UBI received recognition for the excellence in the implementation of the Diploma Supplement with the award of the DS Label by the European Commission. Vibrant and supportive student life, inside and outside the academy
Class sizes are usually smaller, which allows students to receive individualized attention and guidance from teachers. The supportive environment is also found with the staff members in the several campuses.
With modern and well-equipped facilities, including laboratories, libraries with 24h study rooms, classrooms and student lounges, and services like accommodation, nutrition, mental health support services, UBI provides the environment conducive to your learning, academic development, and extracurricular activities.
UBI offers a wide range of extracurricular activities in sports, literature, cinema, dance, arts, music, radio broadcasting, as well as personal and collective development spaces, and cultural events all year round allowing you to engage in activities beyond the academic curriculum and have other types of positive experiences to your well-being and academic success.
