Learning outcomes |
This course has the main objective of providing students with methodological knowledge about the various stages of the research process in Economics, leading them in the elaboration of several scientific works, particularly their doctoral thesis. It is intended that they learn to identify the relevant results of the research process and produce the first version of their thesis proposal.
The competences acquired by the students are the capacities of defining, producing and presenting work of scientific nature.
It is also intended to familiarize students with the research environment of the host institutions of the doctoral program.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
This curricular unit examines a set of classic topics in research in order to provide a solid basis for the preparation of the thesis project and, later on, of the thesis.
Students are informed about the regulatory aspects of the thesis work, as well as the procedures to be followed up to the discussion of their thesis in the host institutions of the program. They also learn to identify the most relevant scientific publication rankings and to familiarize themselves with the characteristics of relevant scientific research.
