Learning outcomes For this curricular unit, the student should develop oral and written skills, in the field of communication in health sciences.

At the end of this curricular unit, the student should be able to:
- Prepare and present an oral communication on a scientific topic.
- Prepare and publish a scientiic article in a science journal, and present it in an oral communication.
Syllabus 1. Presentation of scientific topics to non-specialised audiences.
2. Presentation of scientific topics to specialised audiences - poster and/or oral communication.
3. Data analysis and writing scientific articles.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria Assessment criteria:
1) Presentation to non-specialised audiences (AACL)
2) "My thesis in 3 minute" presentation
3) Oral communication and/or poster presentation at CICS Symposium
4) Published article (AP)
10-14 points – review article in national journal
14-17 points – original research article in national journal
16-20 points - original or review article in international journal.
Assessment will also depend on degree of innovation, context, methodological quality, and quality of discussion.

Final mark (CF) for this Curricular Unit will result from the weighted mean:
CF = AACL x 0,15 + AMT3M x 0,15 + CO x 0,20 + AP x 0,50
Language Portuguese. Tutorial support is available in English.
