Learning outcomes This curricular unit is designed to integrate theoretical and practical knowledge about cognitive-behavioral intervention models and strategies in Clinical and Health Psychology and to give an overview on different types of intervention in this field and enabling an approach to clinical reality.
At the end of this curricular unit, students should be able to explain cognitive-behavioral theoretical models underlying different psychological disorders; perform a cognitive-behavioral clinical history; identifying, preparing and carrying out cognitive-behavioral interventions; reflect upon ethical principles of psychologists and code of conduct for intervention in Clinical Psychology and Health; critically analyse scientific documents; use self-oriented learning strategies and manage time; use oral and written skills; reflect, self-criticize and make decisions.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria Theoretical Sessions - expository and interrogative methods are applied in presenting the main concepts and objectives by programmatic area. Presentations of examples/clinical cases that illustrate the various strategies studied are also frequent. These options allow interaction with students through spontaneous questions during the lecture, reflection questions, and large group discussions of the topics covered.
Theoretical-Practical sessions active learning activities are prioritized, including collaborative work and exercises in contact sessions (training intervention techniques through role-play and classroom simulation) and learning based on real situations (presentation of clinical cases).

Evaluation:
Written tests, in-class activities with presentation and group discussion and group assignments with oral presentation and discussion
Language Portuguese. Tutorial support is available in English.
