Learning outcomes The UC Architecture II-2 aims to approach on fundamental of architecture and the deepening of the project method, through the construction and consolidation of individual methodologies of work, understanding of the concept as a basis essential part of the architectural design and development practices. In terms of learning and as part of the design process, it is proposed to acquire the following skills: to Know how to define an idea-concept; to Know how to build/speculate on a program; to Learn to analyze a territory and understand the project as synthesis; to Know how to define deployment strategies and volumetric definition; to Understand relationships between public/private space; in/out; container/content ...; to Produce hierarchical systems; to Propose simple materials and construction systems in connection with design concepts; to Master the practices and processes of representation and improve forms of communication of ideas; to Know how to interpret/criticize a project.
Syllabus The main theme of the Architecture II-2 is the housing, develop throughout the school year in different levels, primarily centered in the housing unit, then faced with physical and social surroundings (dwelling in community). In addition, other topics will be discussed, in particular the design of equipment and urban interventions of programmatic complexity simple. It will be performed the following exercises: Exercise 0 (diagnosis): architectural self-portrait Weight: 0% Exercise 1: interaction design: think the void. Intervention in Boidobra, Covilhã Weighting: 30% Exercise 2: think the living space: artistic residences in Covilhã Weighting: 50% Office Madrid (in OT): travel information Weighting: 10% Exercise Lightning: project for Viewpoint in the historical centre of Covilhã Weighting: 10%
