Learning outcomes The primary objective of this curricular unit is to initiate the development of an original thesis within the scientific domain of Mathematics, with relevant applications to other disciplinary areas. As the first curricular unit in the three-part sequence "Thesis in Mathematics and Applications", this course is undertaken during the first academic year and operates under a tutorial supervision model involving close guidance from the designated advisor(s).
The work developed will support and guide the research activities to be carried out in the subsequent curricular units of the thesis sequence.
Syllabus The syllabus is defined jointly by the advisor(s) and the student, encompassing a range of interconnected themes closely related to the innovative mathematical problems that the thesis seeks to address. This must focus on the specific research topic proposed by both the advisory team and the student and be in line with the coordination and approval of the Scientific Committee of the 3rd Cycle Program in Mathematics and Applications.
