Learning outcomes |
The primary goals of this curricular unit are to acquire and to consolidate knowledge in foundational areas necessary for the research project. The student-professor contact sessions take place in a tutorial class format, which serve a dual purpose: 1) for the professor to assess the student's academic profile and grasp of core material necessary for research initiation, and 2) to establish a structured work plan focused on a selected mathematical topic deemed fundamental to the student's academic development.

|
Syllabus |
Advanced Mathematical Topics, tailored by the professor and advisor to the student's specific research area.
|
|
Main Bibliography |
Core publications relevant to the foundational areas of the research project.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
The methodology is centred on the exposure, analysis, and discussion (in collaboration with the supervisor(s)) of the fundamental results available in the literature that are directly related to the chosen research topic. This process culminates in a presentation of the developed work in a seminar open to professors and other doctoral students.
