Learning outcomes Product development requires mastering a set of integrated skills and knowledge. In addition, it also requires the application of specific methodologies for system development. The development process should also comply with various types of rules and regulations. The main goal of this course is to allow the student the integration of knowledge into project development. From the identification of case studies in hospitals and / or specialized companies it is defined an object of study that involves valences from the other curricular units, which will result in a product of bioengineering. To accomplish this objective the student will go through different stages of system development, starting from functional specification, passing in to the design stage, and ending with tests and validation.

2 - Product specification and project planning.
3 - Analysis of requirements.
4 - Integrated design.
5 - System Development.
6 - Documenting and testing the system.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria The following aspects will be assessed:
Quality of supporting documentation for each phase of the project - 12 values.
Functionality / utility and state of development of the prototype - 8 values.
Language Portuguese. Tutorial support is available in English.
