1. Definition and problematization of the concepts of Culture, Art, and Power and their articulation: 1.1. Culture: complexities, historicity, and political nature of the notions of popular culture, high culture, mass culture, marginal cultures, counterculture, cultural studies, and cultural sciences; 1.2. Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
Classes will take the form of seminar, focusing on two types of activities: a) the presentation by students and respective discussion, of texts previously provided by the teacher: b) the presentation by students and respective discussion of a research work on cases of cultural policies, to develop throughout the semester. The evaluation of students will focus on the following parameters, with the weight also indicated: text presentation in class (40%), research on a case of cultural policies, to present and discuss in a session to be scheduled for this purpose (60%).
