Learning outcomes This CU aims to:

• Promoting in the student the understanding of aesthetics as an interpretative and critical model of the phenomenon of art in general and cinema in particular;
• Enable the student to, in the first place, proceed with the characterization of aesthetics, and, in the background, identify elements of relationship between cinema and aesthetics.

1. AESTHETICS AND CRITICISM. S. Sontag: Against the interpretation of art. A. Danto: Artworld.
2. KANT'S AESTHETICS. Beauty Analytics. Sublime Analytics.
3. PHENOMENOLOGY AND ART. M. Heidegger: the origin of the work of art. M. M. Ponty: the eye and the spirit. H. G. Gadamer: the actuality of beauty.
4. CINEMA AND AESTHETICS IN GILLES DELEUZE. The aesthetic idea. Cinema and sensation.
