Learning outcomes This curricular Unit aims to:

- The implementation and integration of knowledge gained in different curricular units;
- The development of an autonomous form of a work of scientific research;
- The drafting of a master's thesis.

At the end of this COURSE the student should be able to:

4. Search, organize and convey information in its area of intervention
5. Develop interpersonal relationship skills
6. Recognize its limitations and the need to make learning new knowledge

9. Communicate orally and know how to write technical scientific documents
10. Learn and work independently
Syllabus The syllabus is defined between the supervisor and the student according to the established work plan, under the coordination of the Course Director and Course Commission. It is intended that the proposed theme allows the development of autonomous and multidisciplinary skills through the preparation of a dissertation or a research project in Biomedical Sciences with fundamental or applied nature, in the University and / or partnering with companies or laboratories under supervision of a professor.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria The student develops an autonomous scientific research work under the supervision of a teacher. Supervision
can be provided in co-orientation, either by national or foreigneirs supervisors, being always one supervisor
from UBI.
At the end of this course unit, the student must write a thesis dissertation, in which he describes the research
work done and will be presented in a public examination under the following regulations:
Regulation of Master's degree of University of Beira Interior.

Graphics and formatting rules for thesis dissertation of master's degree (Despacho n°. 63/R/2019)
This course unit is evaluated through three main points:
- Scientific quality of the research work performed
- Quality of the oral presentation
- Performance of the student during the public defense of his thesis

To obtain the grade 20/20 student have to publish an article in an ISI/scopus index journal
Language Portuguese. Tutorial support is available in English.
