Learning outcomes |
This Curricular Unit aims to prepare the students to design and execute a training plan for future professionals in the area of health sciences. At the end of this Unit students will be able to: • Identify the training needs of health professionals • Define the competences that the health professional must acquire at the end of a training process • Design and plan learning activities according to the skills to be acquired • Identify the role of teacher and student in the teaching and learning process of training in health sciences • Determine the level of skills acquired by trainees at the end of the learning process • Evaluate the effectiveness of the training process

Training in medicine and health sciences: historical milestones and current situation; theories of learning. Neurological bases of learning. Learning in adults. The roles of teacher and student in the teaching and learning process. Competences, learning outcomes and specific objectives. Curricular organization and educational planning. Definition of an assessment system including feedback. Educational strategies and pedagogic Methodologies. Active learning. Role of simulation in Health Sciences training. Simulation scenarios.
