Learning outcomes Develop knowledge about sport athletics skills for education and training of the sport in school and competition context, allow driving activities elementary training competition and / or assist conduct training and competitive orientation in the different stages of sports training
• Demonstrate knowledge of the different disciplines of athletics and its institutional framework, as well as general aspects of the respective regulations.
• Demonstrate knowledge and ability to use the material and specific equipment for each discipline of athletics, with a view to creating conditions for education that meet safety standards.
• Demonstrate mastery of technical execution and identify common mistakes in its implementation.
• Demonstrate knowledge and ability to use different means and methods of training for the development of racing through background and background.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria The classes will have a theoretical/practical nature where the fundamental aim is the acquisition, development and application of the contents of the UC. Students will have the opportunity to experience the sport and acquire knowledge and intervention skills in the teaching-learning process. Av. periodical (AP), distinct in the field of knowledge, know-how and know-how.
Know: written tests (40% of the grade) and class sheets every 3 weeks (10%)
Know how to do: i) Pedagogical intervention, and ii) in the field of athletics motor skills. This domain is worth 50% of the final AP grade. The final grade in this domain is calculated from the sum of the grade for the pedagogical intervention (group work) and presentation and teaching (individual grade) - 25% - and the grade for motor skills – 25%.
Knowing how to be: Presence and participation (attitude and commitment) will be positively weighted. An attendance of 75% is required for students in TP classes.
Language Portuguese. Tutorial support is available in English.
