Learning outcomes This Course Unit aims to familiarize the students with the fundamental concepts of Law and transmit even deepen knowledge in the areas of commercial and corporate law. In terms of competencies, the student must be able to: i) explain the main introductory concepts of law; (ii) define and classify trade acts and qualifying persons as traders; iii) explain the special legal framework that applies to the trade acts; iv) describe the special obligations of the traders; iv) state the concept of a commercial establishment and explain the contracts that applies on them; (v) distinguish the different types of commercial companies and explain its legal framework.

Chapter II - COMMERCIAL LAW
1. Object and scope of company law
2. The company's performance: the trade acts

4. The special legal framework that applies to the trade acts

6. The commercial establishment and the individual limited liability establishment (EIRL):

Chapter III - COMMERCIAL COMPANIES

1. Elements of the generic notion of society
2. The commercial company: notion and distinction of simple and commercial civil society
3. Types of commercial companies
4. Incorporation of commercial companies
5. Personality and legal capacity of commercial companies

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria The classes of this course unit work on a theoretical-practical basis. In the beginning, the theoretical concepts are exposed, whenever possible illustrated with examples and in permanent dialogue with the students, who are encouraged to participate. Next, practical exercises are discussed and solved so that students can develop their thinking skills and can apply the content and relevant legislation to specific cases.
