Learning outcomes |
To identify the processes underlying the companies' organization and management as well learn how to define, describe, analyze, compare and identify key issues affecting the modern management. At the end of this unit the student must be able: - To understand the emergence of organizations and the specific case of companies; - To understand the concept of entrepreneurship and the motives related to success and failure; - To identify the functions of management and the required abilities of a manager; - To know the tasks undertaken within each function of management; - To understand the challenges to the management nowadays. In addition it is intended the student mus be able: - To understand, to define, to apply and to discuss the concepts to practical situations whether exercises, case studies or action research about them. - To interact, to make decisions and teamwork.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
The evaluation will be done by two tests and group work in class. The 1st test (37,5%) and 2nd (37,5%). In the 75% of the 2 tests the student must have a minimum of 7 values and a mandatory presence in the 2 moments to be approved by Frequency. The work done in group (WG), during the class period, has a weighting of 25%. In each WG the three best positive scores> = 14 values, will have a bonus of 15% (1st best grade), 10% (2nd best grade) and 5% (3rd grade). Class participation - Bonus up to 1v. Limit of absences for approval by frequency and access to exam: 50% of the classes counted by the teacher (for the students of 2nd phase and 3rd phase counting from the date of entry). The student will be approved by AP and exempt of the exam when: 1st test. (37,5%) + 2nd Freq. (37,5%) + WG (25%)> = 9.5 values with 75% Freq. > = 7 values; compulsory presence in both tests and 50% of attendance counted. To have access to the exam they must have a minimum grade of 6 in the average of evaluation. For being approval by exam students can choose from one of the following options: A) 75% exam + 25% WG or B) 100% exam. To improve note by exam it will be considered the best grade obtained in the evaluations moments without considering the works in classes grade. Workers students will have flexibility in carrying out the work made in class, having a week after the class to deliver them and have mandatory presence in both frequencies.
