Learning outcomes |
This curricular unit aims to contribute to the study and research, at an advanced level, of the importance and role of territory in the functioning of the economy and in economic analysis. It also aims to provide a theoretical and analytical reference, at a 3rd cycle level, for the planning and management of regional and local territories. This curricular unit seeks to ensure the following main competences: i) A solid knowledge of the spatial dimension of the functioning of economic activity and its implications for the performance of the economy of cities and regions; ii) Mastery of the theoretical body, and the most relevant methodologies and practical applications, of economic theory concerning regional economics and urban economics; iii) Capacity for autonomous research and scientific production in the field of regional economics; iv) Capacities for multi-sectoral and multi-scale planning of local and regional territories, and for the design and evaluation of public policies.
