Entry requirements Correct expression in Portuguese.
Learning outcomes By the end of de semester the studend should be able to:
- understand the sign in the general theory of signification.
- widen horizons of interpretation, comprehension and fluent expression in Portuguese language.
- identify different textual typologies.
- acquire norms of textual production and written and oral expression in Portuguese language.
- promote the presentation and discussion of structured, linguistically correct and adequate information.
- understand and adapt theoretical notions to communicative specificities (eg context / situation, time, physical support, space, objective, stakeholders).
- produce texts in the areas of argumentative, expositive-explanatory, injuntivo-instructional, dialogal-conversational.
- develop and improve multiple techniques and competences of efficient communication and interaction

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria Teaching methods:
- Presentation and application of contents;
- written exercises;
- Oral presentations, eventually resorting to audiovisual means.

Work material in class: texts and exercises provided by the teacher; material collected by the students.

Assessment criteria (in a twenty-point numerical scale):
Final group assignment- up to 10 points;
Specific evaluation assignments (five individual tasks up to 2 points each) - up to 10 points.
Language Portuguese. Tutorial support is available in English.
