Learning outcomes The curricular unit aims to enrich the curriculum of students, providing them with a structured set of
broad and transversal competences and skills needed in the succeeding curricular units. The following skills are
developed:
a) Understanding the cooperation mechanisms involved in teamwork;
b) Understanding technical-scientific written and oral communication;
c) Knowledge of the principles of technological innovation and entrepreneurship;
d) Knowledge of social, environmental and sustainability concerns in professional practice;
e) Knowledge of the professional activity legal framework;
f) Understanding of the principles of ethics and professional deontology.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria The assessment methodology focuses on group work to carry out tasks aligned with the content and objectives of the discipline.
1 – Teamwork to carry out tasks 1.1 – Teams of 3 students;
1.2 - A leader to be chosen during the execution of the tasks;
1.3 – A spokesperson to be chosen during the course of the tasks;
2 - Presentation of results 2.1 – Report of tasks in multilingual;
2.2 – Class;
3 – Innovation 3.1 – Apply artificial intelligence to tasks;
3.2 – Compose manuals, videos and presentations automatically;
3.3 – Focus part of the activities on computing to support civil engineering;
4 – Guidelines 4.1 – Definition of relevant issues based on the SDGs and RIS3;
4.2 – Identify examples of civil engineering organizations and events for community development;
4.3 – Make proposals.
5 Understanding the principles of ethics and professional deontology.
