Learning outcomes |
Goals: to study the general characteristics of Urban Planning in Portugal within the European context. Skills: 1. To understand urban planning proposals and analyse their potential and challenges. 2. To understand the main Urban Planning instruments, their objectives and content, considering different scales of intervention — national, regional, intermunicipal and municipal. 3. To understand the types of land use and the role of urban areas in comparison with rural spaces, with regard to building and urbanisation processes. 4. To understand emerging themes in Urban Planning (such as housing, soft mobility, territorial resilience, and digital cities) within the context of Civil Engineering.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
1. Frequência/Teste escrito (50%, 10 em 20). Permitirá avaliar se os estudantes assimilaram as matérias lecionadas e obtiveram as competências definidas. O teste terá uma componente teórica e outra prática sobre os conteúdos programáticos e a análise de planos municipais desenvolvidos em ambiente de aula. 2. Trabalho prático com apresentação oral em ambiente de aula e relatório (50%, 10 em 20). Será realizado um trabalho prático, que respeita à análise de um loteamento e das obras de urbanização, com os cálculos de índices e parâmetros urbanísticos, para verificar a sua conformidade com o PDM e com os demais requisitos técnicos.
