Learning outcomes |
This unit is designed to provide an introduction to the theoretical frameworks underlying humanistic, psychodynamic and systemic models of intervention. At the end, students should be able: . to describe and explain the theoretical foundations and main constructs of humanistic , psychodynamic and systemic models; . to identify types of intervention underlying these models; . to analyze and summarize scientific literature within these psychological intervention models; . to communicate ideas, problems and solutions, resulting from the activities of analysis, synthesis and reflection carried out individually and in groups.

Syllabus |
1. Humanist Models: Existencialism, Humanism and Humanistic Psychology: familiarization with key authors (Roger and Maslow). Theoretival framework of person-centered psychotherapy 2. Psychodynamic models: Freud and the birth of psychoanalyis; key-issues: the unconscious, dreams, theory of sexuality, personality structure, defense mechanisms. Beyond Freud: other key-authors (Winicott, Klein). 3. Systemis models: introduction to systemic perspective, theoretical and epistemological framework, psychopathology from a systemic perspective; family therapies: classic models and new developments.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
Teaching methodologies include theoretical explanations and practical examples to introduce basic concepts and provide a foundation for learning.
