Learning outcomes The aim of the course is for students to understand the theoretical and ethical foundations of the psychological assessment process.
Therefore, at the end of the course, students should be able to:
1. Know the purpose of Psychological Assessment (PA) as a specific and distinctive element of the scientific and professional activity of psychologists.
2. Understand the need to use various methods/techniques/instruments and informants in the PA process, as well as the impact of psychological processes on decision-making in PA (heuristics, biases and errors).
3. Identify key technical, psychometric and ethical/deontological issues relating to the use of PA methods/techniques/instruments.
4. Understand the objectives, characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of each of the PA methodologies explored (interviews, direct observation, behavioral assessment scales).
5. Identify and acquire information sharing/communication skills in the PA process.

2. Properties of Psychological Assessment Instruments

b) Metric Properties of Assessment Techniques: Fidelity and Validity;
c) Scoring of Psychological Assessment Tests.
3. Ethical and Social Implications of Psychological Assessment.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria The unit will be assessed through two individual tests of theoretical knowledge and eight theoretical-practical activities.
