Learning outcomes |
To transmit, develop, consolidate and deepen transdisciplinary skills, promoting greater specialization of the professional profile of architects.
The implementation of thinking-oriented matrices for: the constructed, cultural and natural heritage; and the environment, encouraging the material and immaterial experiences.
At the end of this module the student should be able to:
Analyze the morphological characteristics of a given graphic representation, taking into account its conventions, means of expression, supports, scales and purposes
Apply properly the Drawing lexicon and grammar, realizing its evolution and impact in the project practice;
Identify graphic techniques and poetics, recognizing their conceptual role, impact and reciprocity in architecture.
The main objective is to qualify researchers and architects, about the intangible meanings of architectural space and the way in which the relationship between urban or built space interacts with the human.

Syllabus |
Investigation based on case studies, surveys, interviews and seminars with the presence of guests in the study area, namely with regard to the way of interpreting the surrounding space, through the perception of colors and shapes.
This module aims to deepen the procedural, phenomenological and conceptual understanding of Drawing in the field of Architecture, as an instrument of analysis, imagination, project and communication, for which the following contents contribute:
Creative and pragmatic processes, objects, modes and purposes of Drawing;
Drawing iconography, lexicon and grammar (space, shape, matter, structure, contour, typology, composition, proportion, space, light, color, texture);
Perceptual, visual, spatial, environmental, rhythmic and compositional structures of Architecture and Landscape through Drawing;
Creative framework for the design of architecture from a lot of authors from different eras, from Renaissance treatises to digital computer graphics.

Teaching Methodologies and Assessment Criteria |
- The doctorate student should be able to have an individual perspective, at the level of his personal background, that shows an understanding about intangible factors and how they influence the interpretation of the architectural space and the urban space. Knowledge of these intangible elements should be interpreted and later systematized, in order to give useful and dynamic proposals for work in the architectural space.
- The scientific argument will also be based on phenomenology, which implies in a more individual interpretation of what has been or will be observed.
